Senior Magento Developer $115k. Newport Beach, CA based.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Magento Developer role who would join a recently VC funded business. This digital marketing agency are based in Newport Beach. The upcoming project is a migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2. It involves working on custom modules and creating complex Magento solutions to drive the business forward. You will be working with 8 other Magento developers ranging from junior to lead whilst mentoring junior developers.The role is around 80% hands on coding.

Basic Requirements

• Comfortable with MVC applications and PHP object-orientated programming
• Comfortable with MYSQL-based database concepts
• Competent with GIT-based source control
• Minimum of 2 years PHP web development experience
• Minimum 1 year Magento 2 experience
• In the last 2 years, real world e commerce experience with Magento development
• Always analysing solutions for the smart solution not the easy one
• Automated deployment strategy knowledge

Technical Requirements

• Using layout XML, blocks and templates, customising experience of Magento’s front end components
• Extending and authoring Magento’s extensions
• Experience with store catalogues and sales orders
• Expert in Magento’s code structure, extension architecture, theming hierarchy and fallback components
• Comfortable with web services integrations (REST/SOAP)
• Comfortable with using libraries such a jQuery and Prototype as well as authoring JavaScript
• Personal responsibility for production-level code
• Linux-based systems experience
• E-commerce data organization and relationships knowledge
• Leverage all available tools at your disposal to continuously improve
