As a senior technical member of the Enterprise Architecture Team, you will work on the design and implementation of core foundational components supporting a major cloud initiative. This role will be primarily responsible for delivering a fully functioning Azure cloud service integrated with existing Federal agency VMWare private cloud infrastructure. The incumbent will work with security, identity management, and infrastructure teams in this deployment.

The ideal candidate will have designed, developed, unit tested, implemented and documented solutions that include not only the code to supports business functionality, but also the underlying infrastructure required to run that code and the systems required to deploy it. The candidate should also possess technical skills and experience in the virtual infrastructure domain.

This position will be involved in all aspects of the cloud adoption effort however the primary focus will be on the development, migration, and deployment of applications on this environment.


      Oversee cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, management and monitoring.

Use DevOps best practices to define deployment architecture

Define container-based solution architectures consistent with agency standards and best practices

Work closely with application software engineering and technical teams to ensure successful rollout of the solution to the cloud.

Design of a hybrid cloud network infrastructure with a focus on Azure and AWS using industry best practices

Provide and document architectural and design inputs for network connectivity and security

Perform network configuration for ExpressRoute and other commercial cloud network services

Identify required security controls and assist in implementation

Setup and configuration of Azure enrollment and subscription models

Other duties as assigned that have technical relevance to the task

Required Experience:

      Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technology discipline and/ or equivalent related implementation experience in lieu of degree

Experience with PaaS commercial products such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry

Experience with Docker and containerization of legacy applications

5 - 7 years of experience in software systems, programming, database development, and infrastructure development and administration

Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with full stack development.

5+ years demonstrated experience with AWS cloud supported programming languages like Java, Node JS, React JS, Angular JS or Python development.

Demonstrated design and implementation experience of FedRAMP compliant environments within Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud

Desired Experience:

      5+ years' experience with cloud infrastructure technologies (VPC, Vnet, Route53, Azure DNS, ELB, Azure LB, IAM, RMS, etc.)

Understanding and contribution to enterprise architecture including network, security, application, etc. with a system engineering view

Familiarity with VMWare technologies
